Day 1
Target Audience: Intermediate to Advanced Off-Roaders. It is recommended (not required) that enrollees complete the Introduction to 4x4 course prior to taking this course.
What Should You Wear: In most cases we will be training in the snow. Please come prepared with enough outdoor clothing to stay warm... including good boots, hat, and gloves.
Vehicle Requirements: Any reliable 4WD with 2-speed 4WD transfer case (must have 4-Low gearing). Street legal vehicle in excellent working condition, no fluid leaks. Frame-mounted recovery points front and rear.
Equipment Requirements: None... However this is a list of equipment that will help you take full advantage of the training in this course. However, if you do not have this equipment please do not purchase for the course. We will show you the very best equipment you'll want to purchase.
Vehicle-mounted winch
Various winch accessories (shackles, snatch block, recovery ring, tree strap, etc.)
Traction Boards and/or Bridging Ladders
Kinetic Energy Rope/Strap
Tire repair kits
Air Compressors
Food and Lodging: Food and lodging will not be supplied. Please prepare to bring a packed lunch during the day, and plenty of water. There are many suitable hotels and camping areas close to the training area. Reservations for lodging are the responsibility of the attendee. You will not be allowed to camp on-site at the training facility.
Prerequisite: A desire to learn and have FUN!
Length of Course: 1 day; 8:30am to 5:00 pm
Testing: None
